Service Description

Lacemaking is an overlooked art-form and skill from our textile heritage. In this workshop with Ruth of Karumo Textiles, you will discover how to create a miniature artwork in the form of a lace 'sprig', by using a traditional bobbin lacemaking technique. You'll be able to follow a pre-prepared framework or express yourself by creating your own design. Be inspired by reference images from Sidmouth museum in South Devon, a centre for 'sprig' lacemaking, including the famous Honiton lace and Branscombe point.
