Print the Hills: Landscape collage
A printing making and collage short course With Jo Green
Available spots
Service Description
Week 1: Using foraged natural materials and found objects from the Silk Museum, we will create collagraph plates. This involved selecting, arranging and gluing items to a card base. We will build a number of plates each so that we have plenty of possibilities to play with, and be guided and inspired by Jo's examples and references to other artists who use collagraph in their practice. Week 2: We will print our collagraph plates along with other found items to create a wide range of textured collage papers. You will also be able to mono-print(a one-off print) using gelli-plates and acrylic paint, a technique with fascinating results. Week 3: We will work with our unique, hand-made collage papers to create our own impressionistic interpretations of the stunning Peak District hills. There is also scope for additional mark making using paint, ink and pencils to enhance the finished piece. Please feel free to bring pictures of hills that you love and we will also have photographs of our own favourite views for you to reference. Take home your mount-framed pieces to treasure.
