Discover the colourful alchemy of natural dyes in making vibrant patterns on silk! This course is for all abilities, and includes viewing and researching the historic pattern books, practical workshops on using natural dyes such as logwood, safflower, madder and oak-iron to dye silk, creating pattern printing blocks and printmaking with modifier pastes to change the colour of the dyed silk and the opportunity to add elements of stitch to your patterns. You will take home several pattern book page -inspired works, glowing with natural dye colour forming intricate designs.
